Samsung Dryer Error 9C1 / 9C2: Irregular Power Voltage
Indicates the Samsung dryer detected a low or irregular mains voltage, usually after a power cut or voltage spike, and halts the cycle to protect the electronic control board.
How to reset or clear this error:
Unplug the Samsung dryer for at least 2 minutes to reset the control board and clear the stored voltage code. Plug it back in directly to the wall, avoiding shared power strips or extension cords.
Common symptoms:
- Cycle stops and "9C1" or "9C2" flashes on the display
- Happens right after a power outage or electrical storm
- Unit stops responding to buttons until unplugged and replugged
Probable causes:
The control board detects the incoming voltage dropped or rose outside the safe range and self-protects by halting the cycle.
Sharing a circuit with ovens, air conditioners, or microwaves causes momentary voltage dips the sensor reads as a mains fault.
If the error persists without any obvious power interruption, the mainboard's voltage sensor may be damaged and needs professional diagnosis.
Safe Inspection Checklist (Check off when completed):
Disconnect the dryer from the outlet for at least 2 minutes. This resets the control board and clears the stored voltage-fault code.
Reconnect the dryer straight into a dedicated wall outlet, avoiding power strips or cords shared with other large appliances. Run a short test cycle.
See if other appliances also reset or flickered at the same time. If it was a neighborhood-wide outage, the error is a one-off and not a sign of a fault.
If the 9C1/9C2 code keeps returning with no identifiable power interruption, even when plugged straight into the wall, the control board's voltage sensor needs professional inspection or replacement.
