Bosch Dryer Error E:01: Heat Detection Fault
The E:01 code appears when the Bosch dryer's heating assembly sensor doesn't detect enough heat during the cycle, so the laundry doesn't dry properly.
Common symptoms:
- "E:01" appears on the display during or at the end of the cycle
- Laundry comes out cold and damp after the program
- The drum turns normally but no heat is felt
Probable causes:
Restricted airflow reduces it so much that the sensor can't detect the expected minimum temperature, even though the heating element works fine.
The element generating heat has burned out and no longer warms the air passing through the drum.
The sensor itself incorrectly reports "no heat," even though the element is actually heating normally.
Safe Inspection Checklist (Check off when completed):
Remove the lint filter and clean it thoroughly. On condenser models, also pull out the condenser block and rinse it under the tap following the assembly arrows.
With the filter clean, run a short heat cycle and check with your hand (without touching the heating element directly) whether warm air comes out of the front grille.
If no warm air comes out after cleaning the filter and condenser, the heating element has likely blown and needs replacing; if heat is present but E:01 persists, the sensor is at fault. Either way, a technician is recommended due to electrical risk.
