Bosch Washer Error E18 / F18: Pump Blocked
Bosch electronics detect that water level is not dropping in time during drain phase.
How to reset or clear this error:
Unplug the Bosch washer, place towels under the lower maintenance hatch, and drain the water through the flexible hose before cleaning the filter. The E18/F18 code clears once you restart the cycle with a clean filter.
Common symptoms:
- Machine full of water
- E18 code displayed
- Door locked for water safety
Probable causes:
Foreign object stuck in coin trap blocking drain flow.
Accumulated detergent or buildup in wall drain pipe.
Small sock or item trapped inside lower tub hose assembly.
Safe Inspection Checklist (Check off when completed):
Unplug power plug. Place low towels and tray beneath lower hatch.
Pull small drain hose, unplug plug to empty water. Unscrew main threaded Bosch filter and clear out items.
Check impeller blades at cavity rear spin freely with finger. Drain hose into a bucket to test outlet flow.
If filter is spotless yet pump fails to activate or displays E18 again, electronic module or pump motor unit needs technical repair.
