Balay / Bosch Dishwasher Error E24: Drain Evacuation Failure
Dishwasher detects abnormal backpressure during initial drain sequence.
How to reset or clear this error:
Remove the cylindrical filter from the bottom of the Balay dishwasher, lift the metal plate, and locate the white pump safety cap to clean and clip it firmly back into place. The E24 error resets once you start a short cycle with the filter properly seated.
Common symptoms:
- Stops after 2 minutes with E24
- Dirty water remains in bottom sump
Probable causes:
If small white plastic cover under filters is not locked with a click, pump cavitation occurs.
Food debris caught in the barbed drain pipe adapter under kitchen sink.
Hard debris or broken glass fragment jammed in pump vanes.
Safe Inspection Checklist (Check off when completed):
Unscrew cylindrical mesh filter counter-clockwise and lift metal plate. Locate small plastic pump cover clip.
Pry off plastic cap, clear debris from impeller. Reinsert cap and press firmly until an audible CLICK is heard.
Unclamp drain hose at sink drain branch and verify no grease buildup or factory seal blockage exists.
If cover snaps tight and drain hose is clear yet E24 continues, the drain pump motor coil or control board relay requires technician repair.
