Siemens / Bosch Dishwasher Error E15: Aquastop Flood Triggered
Water has accumulated in the lower safety tray beneath appliance, triggering safety float switch.
How to reset or clear this error:
Unplug the dishwasher and shut off the water supply valve immediately, then tilt the unit back 45º to drain the water pooled in the Aquastop base tray. The E15 error only resets once you confirm the base is dry.
Common symptoms:
- Tap symbol flashing on display
- Drain pump runs continuously even with door open
- Control buttons unresponsive
Probable causes:
Slow internal drip falling into bottom catch tray.
Foam overflows side seals down into lower base tray.
Water leaks past filter neck if loose during wash cycle.
Safe Inspection Checklist (Check off when completed):
Unplug power cord immediately and close under-sink water supply valve.
Pull unit out. Lay towels behind. Tilt machine backward at a 45-degree angle for 2 minutes to drain catch tray.
Set upright, restore water and power. Clear error with power cycle and run short test wash to monitor leaks.
If E15 reappears shortly, an active internal water leak exists at the sump bowl gasket or internal hose requiring service technician repair.
