AEG Fridge Alarm AL01/AL02: Temperature Too High
AL01 warns that the fridge zone is too warm and AL02 that the freezer temperature is rising or already too high, with an audible alarm and a flashing symbol on the display.
Common symptoms:
- Continuous or intermittent beeping
- AL01 or AL02 shown on the display
- Food feels less cold than usual
Probable causes:
Food or a container preventing the door from closing fully lets warm air in continuously.
After a blackout or storing freshly cooked food, the internal temperature rises temporarily and triggers the alarm until it stabilizes.
The rubber door seal has lost its elasticity and doesn't seal tightly, or the sensor persistently gives incorrect readings.
Safe Inspection Checklist (Check off when completed):
Remove any container that might be blocking full closure and check the rubber gasket for tears or dirt buildup.
Press the alarm button to stop the beeping. If the cause was a power cut or hot food, the temperature should normalize within a few hours.
Place a banknote or piece of paper between the gasket and frame and close the door; if it slides out easily, the seal isn't gripping properly.
If the AL01/AL02 alarm persists with the door properly closed, no recent change in food load, and no power outages, the temperature sensor or door gasket likely needs replacing by a technician.
