Indesit Washer Error F05: Drain Pump Fault
Indesit's control board detects that the drain pump is not responding or cannot empty the water within the set time during the cycle.
Common symptoms:
- Cycle stops with the drum full of water
- F05 flashes on the display, or blinking lights on models without a screen
- Buzzing pump sound with no water coming out
Probable causes:
Fabric fibers, buttons, or coins trapped in the filter stop the impeller from turning properly.
The rear hose kinked when the washer was moved, or came partially loose from its fitting.
The pump motor's electrical winding has degraded after years of use and no longer generates suction force.
Safe Inspection Checklist (Check off when completed):
Unplug the appliance and place a towel and shallow tray under the filter hatch, at the bottom right or left corner depending on the model.
Turn the filter counter-clockwise carefully, letting water drain out gradually, and remove all trapped debris before screwing it back in firmly.
Check the rear hose isn't kinked and is securely attached. Plug the washer back in and run a short rinse-and-spin cycle to confirm it drains normally.
If the filter is clean and the hose is in good shape but the pump makes no sound when attempting to drain, the pump motor needs replacement by a technician.
