Haier Fridge Alarm H1 / H2: Temperature Out of Range
The Haier combi fridge shows H1 (fridge compartment) or H2 (freezer compartment) when internal temperature rises too much for an extended period.
Common symptoms:
- H1 or H2 flashes on the digital panel
- Warning beep every few minutes
- Food in the affected compartment is softer than usual
Probable causes:
A misaligned shelf or a tall container pushes against the door, preventing an airtight seal.
The compressor needs several hours to compensate for the sudden thermal load added at once.
The compressor and condenser need at least 5 cm of clearance to dissipate heat properly.
Safe Inspection Checklist (Check off when completed):
Remove any containers sticking out from shelves and check that the door closes without resistance all around, paying attention to the top and bottom gasket.
Check there's at least 5 cm of clearance at the back and that the lower grilles aren't blocked by nearby furniture.
Avoid opening the doors for at least 4-6 hours to let the compressor recover the target temperature. The H1/H2 alarm should turn off on its own.
If the door closes properly, there's enough ventilation space, and the alarm doesn't clear after 6-8 hours, the compressor, thermostat, or temperature sensor may be failing and a technician is needed.
