Candy Fridge Error E1: Defrost Sensor Fault
The E1 code on Candy fridges flags a fault in the temperature probe that controls the evaporator's automatic defrost cycle.

- The fridge cools inconsistently
Probable causes:
The thin cable running from the probe to the board has come loose or been pinched, cutting the signal.
The probe mounted above the evaporator degrades from repeated freeze-thaw cycles until it loses accuracy or fails.
The circuit processing the probe signal is damaged and triggers the code even with a healthy probe.

Disconnect the fridge from the mains for 5 minutes to force a full control board restart before checking internal components.
Remove the inner rear cover of the freezer or fridge compartment (depending on the model) and visually check that the probe is clipped in place and its cable isn't pinched.
