AEG Oven Error F11: Temperature Sensor Fault
The F11 code on an AEG oven means the NTC probe measuring internal temperature is sending an out-of-range signal, so the oven cannot regulate heat accurately.
Common symptoms:
- F11 appears on the display when the oven is switched on
- The oven shuts off on its own after a few minutes of use
- Food comes out undercooked or unevenly burnt
Probable causes:
Repeated expansion and contraction with each use can slightly loosen the sensor connector on the oven's rear wall.
The sensor itself has lost accuracy or been damaged after years of intense heat cycles, especially in ovens with pyrolytic function.
A household power surge may have caused a one-off faulty reading that clears with a reset.
Safe Inspection Checklist (Check off when completed):
Switch off the circuit breaker feeding the oven for 5 minutes to force a full electronics reset, then switch it back on and check whether F11 clears.
With the oven unplugged and cold, if you have experience and access to the rear panel, visually check that the temperature sensor connector, usually a metal rod on the interior wall, is properly seated.
Turn the oven on to 180°C and watch for 10-15 minutes whether it holds a stable temperature or F11 reappears and the oven shuts off.
If the reset doesn't fix it or F11 reappears as soon as preheating starts, the NTC temperature sensor needs replacement by a technician, since working inside the rear panel carries electrical risk.
