Indesit Oven Error F03: Temperature Sensing Fault
The F03 code on an Indesit oven points to a fault in the sensor that measures the cavity's internal temperature, which stops the oven from regulating heat correctly during cooking.
Common symptoms:
- F03 appears on the display and the oven stops heating
- Food cooks very unevenly or comes out undercooked
- The oven beeps intermittently during the program
Probable causes:
The sensor on the cavity's rear wall degrades after years of heating and cooling cycles until it sends an out-of-range reading.
Everyday vibration and heat can loosen the probe's connector at the rear exterior of the oven.
Less often, the fault lies in the board's reading circuit rather than the sensor itself.
Safe Inspection Checklist (Check off when completed):
Disconnect the oven at the breaker or plug for one minute and reconnect it to force a full reset of the control board.
With the oven pulled away from the wall and unplugged, locate the probe connector at the rear exterior and check it's firmly seated with no scorch marks.
Turn the oven on at medium temperature for a few minutes and note whether F03 appears immediately when cold or only after heating for a while, which helps guide the diagnosis.
If F03 persists after resetting and checking the connector, the temperature probe needs replacing by a technician, who will also check the control board if swapping the probe doesn't fix it.
