The F1 code on an Electrolux oven usually points to a problem with the mechanism or sensor that locks the door, either from a misaligned door or a fault in the latch itself.
Common symptoms:
- F1 appears on the display when starting a program
- The door doesn't seat properly when closed
- The oven beeps and won't start any program
Probable causes:
Over years of use and door weight, the hinges lose tension and the door no longer closes in exactly the position the lock sensor expects.
The latch or the switch that confirms closure can seize or break, preventing the board from receiving a correct door-closed signal.
Less often, it's the board itself failing to process the signal correctly even when the door and latch are in perfect condition.

Disconnect the oven from the mains for about 5 minutes and plug it back in; many one-off F1 alerts clear with this simple reset.
Open and close the door slowly, checking whether it sits parallel to the frame or tilts to one side; a visible gap points to worn hinges.

If F1 persists after resetting and cleaning, and the door is clearly sagging, a technician needs to adjust or replace the hinges or latch mechanism; forcing the door in an attempt to fix it is not advisable.
