LG Dishwasher Error IE: Water Inlet Failure
Indicates the LG dishwasher is not receiving enough water during fill, due to a supply cut-off, blockage, or inlet valve failure.
Common symptoms:
- Cycle stops early without the tub filling
- "IE" appears on the display
- Repeated beeping after a few minutes
Probable causes:
The under-sink tap was left closed after cleaning or renovation work, or there is a temporary water supply cut in the home.
The mesh filter at the inlet connection accumulates limescale, or the hose got crushed when the appliance was installed.
The valve fails to open electrically even when the control board sends the correct command.
Safe Inspection Checklist (Check off when completed):
Locate the tap under the sink that feeds the dishwasher and turn it fully counter-clockwise to make sure it is open.
Close the tap, disconnect the inlet hose, and pull out the small mesh filter; clean it with vinegar or descaler if limescale is present.
Check the hose is not kinked when the appliance is pushed back in place, reconnect everything, and run a short program to verify filling.
If the tap is open, pressure is normal, and the filter is clean but IE persists, the inlet solenoid valve needs replacement.
