Indesit Dishwasher Error F8E1: Water Heating Fault
Shown when the Indesit dishwasher detects a problem in the heating circuit and cannot reach the temperature of the selected program.
Common symptoms:
- The program takes much longer than usual
- Dishes come out cold with undissolved grease
- F8E1 code on the control panel
Probable causes:
The heating element has lost electrical continuity or is so coated in limescale that it no longer transfers heat effectively.
The sensor sends incorrect readings to the board, which cuts heating early as a safety measure.
The component that switches the heater from the electronic board fails to supply current correctly.
Safe Inspection Checklist (Check off when completed):
Unplug the dishwasher from power for 2 minutes, then restart it with a short program to see if the error repeats.
With the appliance empty, run a high-temperature program with a dedicated descaler to remove limescale from the heater.
Clean the lower sump filters, since insufficient filling caused by dirt can trigger false heating warnings.
If F8E1 persists after resetting and descaling, the heating element or temperature sensor needs to be inspected and replaced by a technician.
