Hotpoint Dishwasher Error F2: No Water Intake
The F2 code, along with a flashing tap symbol, indicates the Hotpoint dishwasher does not detect water entering at the start of the program.
Common symptoms:
- Tap symbol flashes with a repeated beep
- Program doesn't progress after several minutes
- No sound of water entering
Probable causes:
The valve under the sink was accidentally closed while cleaning the cabinet or after recent plumbing work.
The small filter where the hose screws onto the tap accumulates sediment over time.
The electric valve that opens the water pathway does not respond to the control board's command.
Safe Inspection Checklist (Check off when completed):
Locate the dedicated dishwasher water valve and turn it fully counter-clockwise to make sure it's completely open.
Close the tap, unscrew the inlet hose at the tap end, and pull out the small mesh filter with fine pliers to clean it with a brush under running water.
Hand-tighten the hose firmly again, open the tap, and run a short program to confirm water enters normally.
If the tap is open and the filter is clean but F2 continues with no water entering, the Hotpoint inlet solenoid valve needs replacement by a technician.
