Haier Dishwasher Error E4: Water Drain Fault
Indicates the Haier dishwasher failed to drain dirty water from the tub within the time limit set by the program.
Common symptoms:
- Dirty water remains at the bottom when opening the door
- E4 code on display
- The pump makes noise but the water level does not drop
Probable causes:
The filters at the bottom of the tub accumulate solid residue, preventing the pump from drawing water correctly.
The hose is crushed when the appliance is built in, or the kitchen siphon it drains into is blocked with grease.
The pump motor has worn out or burned out and can no longer generate enough suction to drain the water.
Safe Inspection Checklist (Check off when completed):
Turn the filter assembly counter-clockwise to remove it and clean it under the tap, removing accumulated food residue.
Check the rear hose is not kinked and clear the kitchen siphon the drain connects to if necessary.
Select the drain-only function or a short program to verify water now drains normally from the tub.
If the pump keeps running noisily without draining water after cleaning filters and the hose, the pump motor is faulty and needs technician replacement.
